Heavy Duty Serrated Welded Bar Grating for Industrial Walkways and Platforms

Welded bar grating, also known as metal open bar grating, is available in two surface types: smooth and serrated. While smooth steel bar grating is more common, serrated grating provides superior skid resistance for enhanced safety.

Manufactured from low carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, press lock grating is created by bonding slotted bars under hydraulic pressure. This construction method produces strong, durable grating ideal for industrial and commercial applications including:

• Stair treads
• Platforms
• Walkways
• Drain covers

The serrated surface texture significantly improves anti-slip properties for safer walking surfaces.

Primarily made from aluminum or stainless steel bars, swage locked grating features cross bars inserted into pre-punched bearing bars and locked under hydraulic pressure. Available in three bearing bar configurations:

• Rectangular bars
• T-bars
• I-bars (lightweight and cost-effective)

Pickling: High-grade steel grating undergoes pickling after production to remove welding scale and discoloration that could lead to corrosion. This immersion process cleans the surface, leaving it metallically pure and corrosion-resistant.

Hot Dip Galvanizing: The steel grating is submerged in molten zinc, creating a metallurgical bond that forms a durable, corrosion-resistant protective layer.

Powder Coating: A cost-effective coloring method involving degreasing, pickling, zinc phosphating, and electrostatic powder application followed by baking at 180°C. Available in all RAL colors with various gloss levels and textures. For maximum corrosion protection, combine with hot-dip galvanizing.
